Terms and Conditions

Your Story® offers you a set of products that can be personalised. Each Your Story product is made to order.


These Terms and Conditions govern the contents and use of the website www.yourstorybooks.com and set out the terms and conditions on which we supply the products available on the website. This website is owned and operated by Your Story, Lda (trading as Your Story).


Please read these Terms and Conditions of Sale carefully before using the website and before ordering any products via the website. By using the website and/or ordering Your Story products you signify that you have read, understand and agree to be bound by these General Terms and Conditions.


Please note that we may modify these Terms and Conditions and thus you should review them periodically. If any modification is unacceptable to you, you shall cease using the website. If you do not cease using the website you will be deemed to have accepted the change.

General Conditions


These Terms and Conditions are agreed between Your Story, Ltd., owner of Your Story®, and individuals with full legal capacity or legal persons, who access the website, hereinafter referred to as user.



To place an order an user must register by completing the form available on the website.


All of the information provided, its accuracy and maintenance, is at user's responsibility. The user should keep the password confidential in order to prevent unauthorised access to his account.


Via Account, the user may access at any time to their personal area, where he can update his personal information and login details. The user may cancel his account by sending an e-mail to customer@yourstorybooks.com.

Orders and Delivery


To place an Order the user needs to follow the order procedure set out on the website. Details in respect of any product, the procedure for payment and the estimated time for delivery are displayed on the website. When placing an order, it is the user responsibility to certify that all of the personal information and products ordered are correct.


Any times or dates stated for delivery are estimates only. We will make reasonable efforts to deliver goods within the time specified, but we do not accept liability for any failure to deliver within that time.


Delivery times are counted from the payment confirmation of the order. During holidays and special events (e.g. Christmas, Easter, …) delivery times may suffer delays.

Prices and Taxes


The prices listed on the website are in Euros and include VAT at the prevailing rate.


Shipping is free to all european countries.


Regarding all the remaining destinations, shipping costs depend on the country of delivery, shipping type, as well as the set of products ordered and are determined when the user has finished personaliseing all of the products to be ordered.


Your Story reserves the right to change, at any moment, product prices, promotions and delivery fees.


Orders with a delivery address outside the EU may be subject to import duties and taxes which are levied once a delivery reaches the destination country. Any such additional charges as well as costs for customs clearance etc. must be borne by the user as the importer of the goods. We recommend that you contact your local customs office for further information.


Your Story online store accepts the following methods of payment:


-Paypal or Credit Card – The online store will redirect the user to Paypal webpage where he will find a summary of his order. In order to complete the payment user must login into his paypal account or choose the Credit Card option (if he doesn't have a paypal account). At the end the user will receive the confirmation of his order. The same information is sent to the e-mail address. The order will be automatically processed.


-Bank Transfer: When the order is complete complete, the website will provide the user with the necessary information to pay by bank transfer. The same information is also sent to the user registered e-mail address. The proof of transfer should be sent to customer@yourstorybooks.com. The order will be processed upon receipt of the proof of transfer.


Regardless of the method of payment chosen, payment should be made within 48 hours following the order submission, or the order may be cancelled.


Your Story does not accept payment by check or in cash, and is not responsible for any money or check sent by mail.

Postage and Packing


All products pertaining to the same order will be dispatched together.


The user is responsible for any inaccuracies regarding the delivery information provided in the order form or website registration. In the event of a return due to address inaccuracy the costs of the postage and packing to resend the product will be charged to the user.


All products are carefully packaged and identified with Your Story brand; thus guaranteeing that the products arrive at their destination in perfect conditions.


Your Story does not deliver to PO Boxes. Orders cannot be collected from Your Story headquarters.


Postage and Packing fees are subject to changes without forewarning.

Returns, refunds and rights of cancellation

When the user receives the products he must inspect them for any defects or non-conformity before signing good condition. In the event of any damages, the customer must not accept delivery of the goods, and must fill out a form, stating the problem. The customer must advise Your Story immediately of any problem by sending an e-mail to customer@yourstorybooks.com.


Any claims must be done within 14 days from the date of delivery. If no claim is made, the goods are considered to be accepted. We will reply to the user via e-mail. Depending on the nature of non-compliance, Your Story reserves the right to request that the customer send images to show the non-compliance of the product.


In the event of Your Story responsibility, user may opt for a new, correct version of the product, or a refund for all sums paid. Refunds are made via bank transfer within a maximum of 30 days counting from the date of conclusion of the product complaint process.


The user cannot exercise the Right to Resolution on orders whose products have been personalised.


The measurements (size, weight, etc.) presented in detail for each item are approximate values and should not be considered exact measurements. We will try to offer the best realistic image of the item in the website, namely graphic design, illustrations, colour, proportions, functionality and details. Notwithstanding, differences between image and real product may occur.

Privacy and Security

All data provided to Your Story® by the user is processed lawfully and with respect for ones private life under the terms of the European Directive pertaining to the Protection of Personal Data.


The data provided by the user is used solely to fulfill the present contract, to process and deliver the order, in addition to send information regarding Your Story.


Your Story will never share, sell or rent personal information to third parties without your express consent or court order.


If the user has doubts regarding Your Story Privacy Policy, he must contact us via e-mail to info@yourstorybooks.com


To subscribe to Your Story newsletter the user should introduce his e-mail address in the respective field at the bottom of the website homepage or catalog. Your Story news and promotions will be sent via e-mail.


If the user wishes to cancel the subscription to the newsletter, he should follow the link available in the newsletter for this purpose.

Access to the online store

Your Story is an internet based store, and as such, is subject to interruptions and normal errors. Occasionally access may be suspended to perform updates, maintenance or add new information or services, causing the least possible disruption.


The digital records, kept in Your Story computer systems; and those of its users are considered proof of communication, orders and payments made between the parties.


Your Story is a registered trademark of Your Story, Lda., owner of the entire contents of www.yourstorybooks.com website, protected by Portuguese legislation on copyright and intellectual property. All intellectual property rights pertaining to the text, images, videos, sound, software and other Your Story website content; belongs to Your Story, Lda. and may not be reproduced in whole or in part, in any manner and in any medium, beyond the legal use as brief quotation in articles and critiques without the prior written permission of Your Story, Lda.


It is permitted to search on Your Story website; and the reproduction of excerpts by printing, downloading to disk or distributing to other people are also permitted, but in all cases for non-commercial purposes. Website content is only permitted for personal purposes. No part of this site may be reproduced with the intention of being sold or distributed for commercial purposes, likewise, no part of this site may be modified or incorporated in any other work or publication, whatever the format, namely reproduction to used by any other site. Your Story by allowing access to its website is not granting any licenses or rights.


Your Story sells personalised products to its customers. Product personalisation may require the customer to specify preferences, select specific options or even send personal information (text and images, photographs) to be used in the personalisation process of the product in question. Notwithstanding, Your Story advises that by acquiring such products, even personalised products, this does not grant the customer any copyrights, nor intellectual property rights on the product or any element, albeit partial (text, image, illustration, graphic design) created and adapted for the product acquired by the customer.

Dispute Resolution and Liability

The conditions of the contract are applicable to Portuguese Law. To resolve any dispute or controversy that may arise regarding the interpretation and/or application of these contractual clauses, the parties agree this must be carried out by the District of Porto Court, despite the plurality of defendants and/or whatever kind of procedures, expressly waiving any other jurisdiction.


The user/customer declares to have read and understood the present contract and accepts the Terms and Conditions and conditions hereby established in the clauses which will bind both parties, renouncing any other Terms and Conditions.
